"This is year 3 with Safe-Hub for us! When the boys first started, they were so hard-headed. The discipline they learn with Safe-Hub-- and working on their attitudes towards respecting the coach and listening and being part of the team, has really helped them grow. They feel like they're part of something, they feel like they put that effort forth and they're getting something out of it. They've grown as individuals and soccer players and I'm proud of them for that. And their confidence has grown—their ability to try again, even when they fail. I love the conversations that Safe-Hub coaches have with the kids at the start and end of practice, integrating the soccer skills along with their outlook and attitude to implement outside of practice. And I help them practice that at home in terms of communication, working together, respect, all of it. I love the assistance [Safe-Hub provides] in terms of the produce, the Back-to-School and End-of-Year events, the snacks, those resources. It helps tremendously. With three kids in the house, getting those extra supplies and support really does help. I love how [Safe-Hub] creates an atmosphere that builds relationships with the other parents. We communicate, share resources with each other; it gives you the opportunity to talk to someone and not feel so isolated. I’ve benefitted as a parent through establishing relationships with other parents, and you hear about so many different community resources just by chatting with each other.”
